A divorce in Chongqing has turned ugly when both parties want their joint online game accounts, Chongqing Business Post reports. Mr. Wang from Chongqing and Ms. Ye from Huibei met last September on Shanda's (Nasdaq: SNDA) online game Legend of Mir 2. Wang saved Ye's character from being killed by another player. The couple married at the end of October but decided to get a divorce in June. During their marriage, the couple jointly played over ten Mir 2 accounts, attaining level 40 to 50 status for all of them.

Gore to Get Lifetime Award for Internet

Gore to Receive Lifetime Achievement Award for Three Decades of Contributions to the Internet

Al Gore may have been lampooned for taking credit in the Internet's development, but organizers of the Webby Awards for online achievements don't find it funny at all.

In part to "set the record straight," they will give Gore a lifetime achievement award for three decades of contributions to the Internet, said Tiffany Shlain, the awards' founder and chairwoman.

"It's just one of those instances someone did amazing work for three decades as congressman, senator and vice president and it got spun around into this political mess," Shlain said.

US Air Roundtrip For $1.86

US Airways mistakenly sold round-trip flights for $1.86 to more than 1,000 customers over the weekend.

US Air, which is operating under bankruptcy court protections, said it will honor the tickets. It blamed the prices on a computer glitch.

The flights with the cheap seats were in and out of Altoona, Pa.; Johnstown, Pa.; Jamestown, N.Y.; Asheville, N.C.; Bradford, Pa.; Hilton Head, S.C.; Watertown, N.Y.; and Lebanon, N.H., the Washington Post reported Tuesday.

The newspaper reported that the Web site flyertalk.com alerted many of the ticket buyers to the availability of the cheap seats, posting an alert to its members.

The newspaper also reported that some of those buying seats are not intending to travel and instead bought the tickets to get the frequent flyer miles.

Google Looking For Homemade Porn

The internet's transformation into a really dodgy public access cable channel continues apace. Google co-founder Larry Page has announced that the company wants the public to send in its homemade videos - and he doesn't mind how mucky they are.

"There might be an adult section, or something like that. I don't think that is going to be a big issue," Page told attendees at the National Cable and Telecommunications Show in San Francisco on Monday, where he was speaking on a panel.

Google has yet to formally announce the proposal but Page said to expect the doors to open "within the next few days".

Officially, it's in the name of research. Google started indexing TV shows late last year, and Page wants to use the public contributions to test its prototype video search software, which uses pattern matching to find words or phrases in video clips. And surely there can be no more daunting a challange than to identify the tattoo on a swinger's cellulite-dimpled buttocks.

A sixth-grader and two of his friends were suspended after being accused of using phony dollar bills made on a home computer to buy food in the school cafeteria.

On Monday, a cafeteria worker at James Madison Middle School found a dollar bill that didn't look or feel like the real thing. Seattle School District spokeswoman Patti Spencer said people in the lunch room were told to watch for more counterfeit bills.

An assistant principal called Seattle police the next day after a sixth grader tried to use one of the fake bills to buy beef jerky from the cafeteria.

Seattle Police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said the boy made 20 fake dollar bills on his aunt's computer, brought them to school and shared them with his friends.

Google CEO, Co-Founders To Get $1 Salary

Google's chief executive officer and co-founders are taking a page out of Apple CEO Steve Jobs' book: they are now being paid just $1 as an annual salary.

According to the search engine's latest proxy statement, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission Friday, Google CEO Eric Schmidt and co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin requested during the second quarter of 2004 that their salaries be reduced to $1.

Prior to that, Schmidt had been earning an annual salary of $250,000 while Brin and Page received $150,000 a year. As a result of this pay cut, Schmidt wound up receiving a salary of $81,432 in 2004 while Brin and Page each earned $43,750.

The company added that during the first quarter of 2005, Google's compensation committee agreed to give Schmidt, Brin and Page a raise due to the company's strong performance. But all three declined the offer and will continue to earn a salary of just $1, the company said.
