A woman ended up with a kebab skewer stuck in her head after a man tried to impress her with his William Tell act.
The 30-year-old victim was at a party in Perm, central Russia, when a guest told her he was a top knife-thrower and offered to demonstrate his skills.
But instead of hitting the loaf he had placed on her head, the skewer got stuck in her skull.
Doctors at a local hospital performed emergency surgery and said the woman was lucky the skewer had not gone into her brain. Police were investigating.
