'Hi! Welcome back from your coma!' - Where Rrejected Greeting Cards Go To Die

Some were sent away for being too profane, others for making snide comments at inopportune times. Now the greeting cards that never made it to the stores hang solemnly on a wall at Hallmark Cards Inc.

For employees at Hallmark's Shoebox division who make their living writing humorous greetings, only a small fraction of their work does end up as cards for birthdays, holidays and special occasions. The best of the rest are brought to their final resting place -- a giant fabric "NO" along one office wall.

Hiker Returns Toronto Family's Purse Stuffed With Jewelry Worth $1 Million US

John Suhrhoff found the Louis Vuitton bag on a Sausalito park bench during a lunch stop in the scenic city following a weekend hike.

Inside the bag, police say, was a treasure trove: a 12-carat diamond ring, pearl and emerald jewelry, a Cartier watch and roughly $500 in Canadian and American cash. The contents were worth a cool $1 million US.

But the respiratory therapist didn't think of heading to a pawn shop - he returned the bag to Sausalito police headquarters Monday afternoon after failing to track down the owners. The bag is en route to the Ghannadian family of Toronto, who were in Northern California for a daughter's wedding.

Eight Jags Pete

Pete Doherty knew just what to do when his illegally parked Jag was towed away - he went out and bought another one.

The Babyshambles singer has now owned eight Jags in as many weeks, reports the Daily Mirror.

Doherty's seventh car was towed away in East London but soon afterwards he handed over £1,000 to a salesman for a replacement.

He had illegally parked his seventh Jag near his home. But instead of paying a fine when it was clamped, he ignored the gold limo and 24 hours later it was hauled off.

'Divorced' In Sleep, Wife Left By Hubby

A Muslim couple in West Bengal have been told by local Islamic leaders they must separate after the husband "divorced" his wife in his sleep.

Sohela Ansari told friends that her husband Aftab had uttered the word "talaq", or divorce, three times in his sleep, according to the report published in newspapers on Monday.

When local Islamic leaders got to hear, they said Aftab's words constituted a divorce under an Islamic procedure known as "triple talaq".

The couple, married for 11 years with three children, were told they had to split.

Malaysia Opens Drive-In Massage Parlor

Stressed out during a long drive? Road hogs driving you up the wall? The Malaysian government is only too happy to help. The country's first highway drive-in massage parlor opened Monday, with the aim of reducing accidents by easing tense muscles of stressed-out drivers. The parlors will be equipped with automatic massage chairs.

"I hope highway users will use this facility," Works Minister S. Samy Vellu said.

Samy opened the first massage center along the North-South Highway, and said the government was planning to open another center this year.

Man Blames Crash On Pretty Woman

A German taking a Ferrari for a test drive wrapped it round a lamppost when he tried to impress a pretty woman.

Alphons Edberg, 33, from Hamburg, was driving a borrowed Ferrari 360 Modena which he was considering buying.

But, according to police, the inexperienced driver lost control after putting his foot down to impress a pretty woman he had spotted.
