A 15-year-old girl was fatally shot after refusing a man's demand for a kiss, authorities said. The alleged gunman was captured Wednesday night in Washington, D.C.

Atlantic County Prosecutor Jeffrey Blitz said Alfred R. Bishop, 21, will be charged with murder in the death of Elisa Hernandez, a high school sophomore.

Hernandez had gone to an apartment in her housing complex to visit girlfriends just before midnight Tuesday, Blitz said. Bishop, a friend of the apartment's occupants who stored some of his belongings there, arrived shortly afterward.

After some casual conversation, Bishop tried to get Hernandez to kiss him, but she laughed at him, the prosecutor said. Bishop then pulled out a pistol, put it to her head and demanded a kiss, Blitz said.

An Israeli couple are preparing to divorce after the man summoned a prostitute to his hotel room only to discover she was his daughter. 

The tale of family turmoil began some months ago when the father, a businessman based in the city of Haifa, was sent by his company to a course in the resort of Eilat for four days.

As the prostitute entered the room, the full horror for him of discovering his daughter's occupation hit him. The father began feeling chest pains which may have been a mild heart attack.

How To Destroy A Brand New Ferrari F360

A Michael Schumacher fan who wanted to emulate his hero virtually demolished an entire street when he crashed a new Ferrari.

The 28-year-old, who has not yet been named, caused nearly £200,000 of damage in Dusseldorf.

His firm's new £70,000 Ferrari F360 was a write-off, and he caused another £120,000 damage.

He smashed into three parked cars, two bikes, a street lamp, a set of traffic lights, a billboard, a signal box and two trees, and left a number of houses without power.

The young driver, who emerged from the vehicle unhurt, told passers-by: "There was a problem with the gears."

But a police spokesman said: "We have a number of witnesses who said the driver was travelling too fast."

Only In India ... Man Hurls Slipper At Judge

An Indian man allegedly hurled a slipper at a court judge who promptly threw a paperweight back in reply.

Nazir Mohammad was in court in Baroda on charges of housebreaking and theft when he jumped out of the witness box and rushed towards the judge.

The robber, reportedly irritated with the slow pace of the case, took off his slipper and threw it at Chief judicial magistrate C D Vaghela.

Judge Vaghela immediately picked up a paperweight from his desk and threw it back at the accused, reports Midday.

War Memorial Looks Like A Penis

A Dutch war memorial that goes up and down, and spurts flames may be scrapped after complaints it looks like a giant penis.

The Liberation Monument is a giant copper obelisk that rises and falls depending on the level of sunlight, and spurts flames out of the top during important festivals.

It is due to go on show in the village of Wageningen where the German capitulation was signed at the end of the Second World War 60 years ago.

A mother of five put her name up for bid on eBay and got an offer. Terri Iligan, 33, sold her name to Internet site Golden Palace Casino, and she will officially be named goldenpalace.com once the legal work is complete.

The casino paid $15,199 for the name.

Iligan said she got the idea when she found out how much it would cost to send one of her children, ages 4 to 10, to a golf school Tiger Woods attended.

"To my kids and to my husband, I will always be Terri. My husband is real supportive," she told WATE-TV in Knoxville. "He thinks it's funny. As long as they get to call me mom, they don't care."

A delegation of 10 Afghan women who are visiting Ohio to make business contacts lost $10,000 worth of crafts when their rented van was stolen.

The group represents 2,000 craftswomen who make purses, shawls, jewelry and other wares.

"We arrived to find a market for these products," said one of the women, Parwana Wafa. "Instead of help, we lost everything."

A Slovenian TV programme that tried to prove top models were brainless bimbos was scrapped after an ex-Miss Universe turned out to have a higher IQ than a nuclear physicist.

Iris Mulej, better known for her comments about group sex, was found to have an IQ of 156 by scientists working for the programme makers.

She had to take a series of logic tests looking at spatial awareness, mathematical equations and problem solving ability.

The test result forced Slovenia TV, the state broadcaster, to cancel its programme involving the model who left school at 16 to pursue a modelling career.

A spokesman for Bronz Model Management that represents Iris, 22, said: "They couldn't really do a programme making fun of dumb models when she turned out to be smarter than anyone else on the programme.

7-year Old Takes Dad's Truck For A Spin

A 7-year-old who apparently wanted to play with friends couldn't wait.

He drove off in his father's truck, eventually running it into a ditch before police officers managed to coax him out of the vehicle.

The boy was driving the big, dual-wheel truck erratically along Highway 27 when other drivers called police Thursday morning, saying they couldn't see anyone behind the wheel.

The boy apparently got the keys while his father, who was not identified, was sleeping, and he was trying to drive to an Enterprise day care center, police said.

Capt. Mike Lolley said the boy was near a convenience store when the vehicle swerved into a ditch.
